Hey!
I've spent my entire career tinkering in the software space, driven by a curiosity for using tech to solve real-world problems.
That curiosity has led me to build Carpoolin, a project that brings together the values I hold and tackles a problem I believe we can actually solve, together!
If my vision is realised, Carpoolin will help ease traffic congestion, reduce emissions, and even improve mental health by rebuilding community connection through shared travel.
I'm excited to see how far we can take it.

The Carpoolin Story
Carpoolin began as a thought while sitting in traffic..
It was a sad situation, I lost over an hour each day commuting to and from work, and my story isn't unlike many other Kiwis.
I also happened to commute from West Auckland over to the North Shore (at the time of writing this -- no direct bus route exist)
So, I was forced to purchase a car otherwise that commute would have been 2hours + each day.
I'm not here to bad mouth public transport. When its operating, its great, especially if you live in the areas served. But outside of that, your options become very bleak.
NZ has an abundance of cars, lets use em!
After some research, it appeared as though New Zealand had no real ways of addressing this problem.
I would see articles about the next large infrastructure project winding up, and see another mentioning how the budget of different project has blown out, costing us the Tax Payers more.
Sadly, I don't think more lanes would fix the traffic problems NZ is facing.. And if I had to choose between houses or roads then houses would win every time.
I don't think the problem is in roads, my thought experiments always led me back to Us the people.
We have to get better.
One of my hopes with Carpoolin is to get the community back together and engaging with one another, you know.. Like the good olde days!
In my opinion, travelling to and from work together would help, simply being in the presence of another human has massive mental health benefits alone!
Creating Carpoolin is a no brainer when considering the landscape.
Wish me luck.

Elevator Pitch
We’re making a Ride sharing App, by and for the community.
Targeting the 9-5 workforce, where this is largely pre-determined travel.
I believe this is a neglected portion of society, where government infastructure is buckling trying to keep up with demand.
Resources aren’t as plentiful as we’d like and on top of this we’re drifting further apart socially because no one seems to be tackling this growing problem... Its a biggem.
Getting around
Reliance on cars
Inadequete public transport
Limited infastructure
Incredible amounts of time lost due to traffic
Resource allocation
Land for roads, parking to service cars
Materials in producing cars that typically carry a one person
Fuel, co2 and brake dust
Loneliness Epidemic
Lonley car rides
Less time for fun stuff
Growing anxiety, because we're not connecting with people like we should be
